Purpose & Application

  • To terminate a 3-core medium voltage (MV) polymeric cable (XLPE, EPR etc.) of cross-section 400 sq mm in indoor / enclosed installations (such as inside switchgear rooms, cable galleries, indoor cable junction boxes).

  • Provide key functions:
    Insulation covering the cable end to termination point
    Electric field / stress control (especially near the shield cutback zone)
    Metallic screen / shield bonding and continuity to ground
